Alfred MacLaren grew up on the picturesque shores of Prince Edward Island, Canada. His earliest musical influences was that of Southern Gospel, with a local church/family influence of old-time stride piano playing & singing till late hours the classic hymns and Southern Gospel songs popular at that time. These influences are very much a part of his music today as he enjoys singing the songs from those days, mixed with contemporary Southern Gospel songs. Over the years he has been actively involved in ministry, both in pastoring for 15 years and using music to touch the hearts of people for Christ. Alfred now lives in Manitoba, and he travels across Canada in ministry-related events at which he shares, through speaking and singing, a message of hope in Christ. This album entitled “You Raise Me Up” is his first solo recording, produced by Woody Wright, and he shares it as a testimony to the grace of God in his life.
